OREGON CITY, Ore. (AP) — An autopsy was conducted Monday on an unidentified body found in a barrel buried behind the home of man suspected in the disappearance of two missing girls. A body found in a shed behind the rented home of Ward Weaver on Saturday was identified as that of 13-year-old Miranda Gaddis, one of two girls who vanished last winter from an apartment complex down the road from Weaver's home. Meanwhile, FBI investigators returned to Weaver's rented home with high-tech equipment, a backhoe, shovels and pickaxes to search for any evidence that might be hidden in the earth. Asked whether more bodies could be buried on the property, FBI spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele replied: "There's no reason to believe that, but they (investigators) do want to clear the property to make sure there's nothing else." Yesterday, a medical examiner began examining the second corpse — found by investigators Sunday in a barrel buried under a concrete slab — to determine whether it is that of Ashley Pond, who was 12 when she disappeared.
