Some U.S. baby boomers financially support both their parents and their children, a survey by the Pew Research Center found. Twenty-nine percent of boomers with a living parent provided some financial aid to the parent in the past year, while 19 percent say they gave money to a child, New York Times reported Sunday. Among the baby boomers with at least one child over the age of 18, 68 percent say they provide some or all of that child’s support, the survey found. Sixty-six percent of the boomer parents say paying for college is the parent’s responsibility. © Copyright 2006 by United Press International
