The Ohio Department of Agriculture has seized five packages of frozen chicken feet from Thailand from a small Cleveland grocery store. Officials have been on the lookout for the contraband product since the U.S. Department of Agriculture warned more than 9,000 pounds of frozen boneless chicken feet had been smuggled into the country in boxes labeled jellyfish, the Cleveland Plain Dealer said. Bird and poultry products from Asia were banned because of fears of an outbreak of avian flu. The five packages of chicken feet were found by a state agricultural agent at the Dong Duong grocery. The store’s owner had sold most of the product but agriculture officials believe other stores are selling the illegal chicken feet.
