Pirates left fielder Jason Bay was scratched from the lineup Sunday and will have an MRI done today on the patella tendon in his right knee. Bay aggravated the already uncomfortable knee Saturday while fielding a routine first inning single by Aramis Ramirez.

&#149 Ryan Doumit might make one of the fastest returns to the disabled list in history. Doumit was activated from the disabled list Saturday and, during the 5-1 loss to the Cubs, severely sprained his right ankle and may, like Bay, be headed for an MRI.

&#149 Outfielder Nyjer Morgan made, perhaps, one of the best plays of the year in the third inning yesterday when he laid out flat to rob Aramis Ramirez of extra bases.

"That's one of the nicest catches I've seen made," Pirates starter Matt Morris said. "He closed down on that ball, and the ball was drifting away from him and had full extension. As a pitcher, over the years, you have an idea of balls off the ball and what they might be, and that had a chance to be a double right there."
