Wildlife officials in Canada are on the lookout Wednesday for a wounded black bear after it attacked a couple in a park, killing one of them.

The Toronto Star reports Dr. Jacqueline Perry was killed while Marc Jordan is in serious but stable condition in a Sudbury, Canada, hospital after the bear attacked them.

The two were in their campsite at Missinaibi Lake Provincial Park near Chapleau.

Jordan managed to stab the bear as it was attacking Perry.

This is the latest in a season full of bear-human confrontations in the area.

Later Wednesday two men were able to scare a bear away from them.

Police Constable Karen Farand said the lack of blueberries this season is forcing bears to forage for food elsewhere.
