A construction worker from Beaver County was killed Friday at a private contracting job site in Mt. Lebanon.

Jon Polcawich Jr., 34, of Beaver, an employee of Hanula Concrete Pumping Inc., was working on Colonial Drive shortly before 1 p.m. when he either attempted to grab onto or fell beneath the contractor's truck, said Mt. Lebanon Deputy Police Chief Gene Roach.

Polcawich, who suffered extensive injuries, was taken to UPMC Mercy, where he died, Roach said. Roach, who identified the truck driver as Leon Hanula, 34, of Carrick, said the investigation is continuing.
