Female chemotherapy and surgery patients don’t have to suffer from a lack of self-esteem because of a change in appearance. Beverly’s Beauty Solutions Inc. carries a large selection of wigs and prosthetics at two locations, one along Route 30 west in Jeannette, and the other, as Creative Cuts, at 995 Greensburg Pike in Forest Hills, Allegheny County. “We know there is a need. It’s very emotional, but also very rewarding,” said Beverly Popelas, owner of both businesses. Popelas is joined by Audrey Caldwell, a registered fitter with the American Board for Certification in Mastectomy Prosthetics. Beginning as a wig and beauty shop owner in Latrobe and Ligonier, Caldwell has been providing wigs and prosthetics for patients for 15 years. Caldwell is well known as a volunteer for the Look Good Feel Better program and has been recognized for her work by the American Cancer Society. Popelas can empathize with her patients, having lost a sister to cancer. Caldwell has lost four relatives to the disease. Popelas said she works with Armstrong County Hospital and opened the Jeannette location several weeks ago. Beverly’s Beauty Solutions is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. More information can be obtained by calling (724) 527-1104 or (412) 351-3773. &#149 Gas Analytical Services of White, Indiana County, is building a pair of buildings to expand its gas measurement and testing facility. The company plans to use about 12,000 square feet for an office area and a shop floor, according to Mark Bernard, district manager. The facility employs 18. The company’s headquarters is in Stonewood, W.Va., near Clarksburg. &#149 This column is devoted to informing readers about changes in the business landscape in Westmoreland, Fayette, Indiana and Somerset counties.
