Bill-paying thoughts

As I sat here paying my electric bill, I checked the box to donate $1 to help those who can’t pay their bills.

I then started wondering: When President Obama’s cap-and-trade legislation becomes law, will the box then ask for a $10 or $100 donation?

If people can’t pay their electric bills now, what will happen when those bills “skyrocket” as our president has promised they will?

This also made me wonder about something else: Approximately what percentage of the money that I make in a week do I have to give in order to “spread the wealth” and subsidize someone else’s housing, food stamps, welfare, utilities and health care?

Should I ask for a raise, work overtime or join the parade?
