A 56-year-old Blairsville man was sentenced to 20 months in a federal prison for bank fraud. Timothy C. Norberg's jail sentence will be followed by a five-year period of supervised release. He also was ordered to pay restitution of $201,000. Norberg, of 418 S. Walnut St., had pleaded guilty to one count of bank fraud before U.S. District Judge David Cercone. U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan said that Norberg, while working as a branch manager for PNC Bank, created false credit applications in the name of a former customer of the bank. The former customer, a physician from Pakistan, had returned to his home country and was unaware of the credit line and credit cards that had been opened in his name by Norberg without his consent. Norberg used the funds from the various credit sources for his own expenses, Buchanan said.
