= CHALLENGE PROGRAM FOR JUNIOR-SENIOR HIGH STUDENTS
For information about the St. Vincent College Challenge 2004 Program, contact challenge@email.stvincent.edu. The program schedule for 2004 is July 11 to 16 for sixth to eighth grades and July 18-23 for ninth to 12th grades. The Challenge Program is designed for gifted, creative, or talented students, sixth to 12th grade students. It offers exciting daytime courses in subjects like computers, history, and the humanities for highly motivated youth who seek opportunities to explore new interests and develop their creativity and talents. In addition to the classroom experience, challenge also includes fun-filled evening recreation and social interaction. Although most Challenge students reside on campus, commuters are welcome for this week-long learning experience.
All courses are designed to stimulate the imagination as well as the intellect. Differences in course content exist between the junior high and senior high weeks to accommodate age and ability levels of participating students. Classes are scheduled from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
"Laurel Highlands University" is a continuing educational program through Laurel Highlands Visitors Bureau, which provides training and motivation to tourism professionals. It is a training series to educate front line employees, supervisors, and managers in key aspects of a successful tourism career, with emphasis on the following topics: providing outstanding customer service, understanding the positive impact of the tourism industry and utilizing resources in the region and the importance of working together as a tourism destination.
The program will consist of four sessions:
Session I, April 14, 8:30 a.m. to 2 pm, Mountain View Inn, Greensburg, Keystone speaker: Anne M. Obarski.
Session II, April 21, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Oakhurst Tea Room, Somerset, Speaker, David Jakielo.

Session IV, May 5, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Backyard Tour.
Class size is limited! Registration accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline is April 5. Tuition $60 for first individual from business; $45 for each additional individual from same business. Tuition includes participation in three seminars, one tour, classroom materials and handouts.
