The body of a Long Island, N.Y., doctor who disappeared last week was found near a Westchester reservoir and his son has been charged in his death.

Dr. Joseph Kazigo, who worked in the emergency room of Nassau University Medical Center, was bludgeoned to death, police said.

His 26-year-old son, Mulumba Kazigo has been charged with second-degree murder, police said.

Joseph Kazigo, a native of Uganda, disappeared after he finished his overnight shift at the hospital last Wednesday. Blood was found in the Westbury, N.Y., apartment he used while working at the hospital, the New York Daily News reported Sunday.

His body was found some 60 miles away, minutes from his suburban home in Westchester.

Police did not disclose a motive for the killing or how the son allegedly transported the body.
