The Westmoreland Italian Day Festa will be held Aug. 17 at Idlewild Park. Rides, amusements, ethnic food and door prizes will be available. The Colavita Cup bocce tournament will be part of the festivities. WORKSHOP

The Family Nurse Midwife Associates will host its next massage for pregnant partners workshop on Wednesday and Aug. 8. The two-part workshop teaches couples the benefits of massage during pregnancy and labor and how it increases relaxation. A workbook is also provided. HELPING HANDS

The Jeannette Salvation Army will be accepting applications for Project Bundle Up, Wednesday through Sept. 30. School age children and senior citizens meeting income guidelines and living in the following zip codes will be eligible: 15644, 15634, 15636, 15675 and 15623. ORIENTATION

An orientation program for incoming ninth graders and other new students entering Jeannette Senior High School will be held 7 p.m. Aug. 15.

Students will receive a copy of their class schedule and will have an opportunity to tour the school. Extracurricular activities, guidance services and school rules and regulations will also be reviewed. Interested parents are encouraged to attend the orientation.

Any new student moving into the district who has not already enrolled at Jeannette High School is encouraged to do so before Aug. 17. New students not enrolled by Aug. 17 will be unable to enroll until after Sept. 4. The high school office is open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 724-523-5591 for more information. The new school term begins Aug. 27.

BIRTHS

Paul and Lorrie Ann Remai of North Huntingdon Township announce the birth of their son, Codie James, July 19.

The baby, weighing 6 pounds, 1 ounce, was born at Forbes Regional Hospital. He joins brothers Nathan and Jeremy at home.

BIBLE DAY

St. John's United Church of Christ in Larimer will hold a Bible Day for kids ages 3 to 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. Aug. 4.

The day will feature 'Noah's Arkade,' snacks, and will conclude with a picnic.

PERFORMANCES

Jenna of Sister Sky will perform 8 to 11 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Rainbow Coffee House at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Smithton, 251 Second St., Smithton. A suggested donation of $4 includes coffee or tea. Desserts available.

The popular Pittsburgh band Johnny Angel and the Halos will perform 6:30 p.m. Sunday at amphitheater at the Irwin Park and Playground. The band is the fourth act to perform as part of the Concerts in the Park series sponsored by the Irwin Civic Activities Committee. The concerts are free and run through the month of August.
