To the editor:

Recently, Ford City High School National Honor Society's mandatory community project was “Paperbacks for the Patients,” a book drive benefiting Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

We placed collection boxes in four locations throughout the Kittanning-Ford City area. The response was outstanding as we collected 465 children's books. This was our first experience handling such a project and we were delighted by the outcome, especially the support from the community.

It is wonderful to live in an area where such participation is possible and so positive. On behalf of many patients and their families, a huge thank you and our sincere gratitude!
