Boy, 12, killed on all-terrain vehicle in Butler County

A 12-year-old boy was killed after crashing an all-terrain vehicle in a Butler County cornfield.

State police say the boy was taken to Grove City Medical Center, where he died shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday in Mercer Township.

Police haven't released the boy's name, and the county coroner has not released the name or returned calls seeking details.

Police say the crash happened on private property but didn't immediately say whether it was owned by the boy's family, or who owned the ATV.
