FC Church to hold health screenings

FOX CHAPEL: The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1610 Powers Run Road, will have health screenings March 16 to assess the risk of stroke and vascular disease.

Life Line Screening will offer carotid artery screenings, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, ankle brachial index and bone density screenings to assess the risk for osteoporosis.

The tests are fast, painless and use ultrasound technology. They are conducted by registered or registry-eligible ultrasound technologists. A board-certified physician reviews the results of each test to ensure the accuracy of the results before they are mailed to the individual. If a screening suggests further evaluation, the individual is encouraged to seek appropriate follow-up care with his/her own physician.

Each screening requires 10 minutes or less to complete and costs $40. A package of three vascular screenings is $99.To register for an appointment call 1-800-407-4557.
