A film director is seeking extras to appear in a scene that will be shot at Heinz Field and in the Strip District this weekend.
The short film -- "Tommy and Me," directed by Ray Werner -- is part of a collection of small Pittsburgh-set stories that will be released as a feature film in the fall. The feature film is called "Greetings from Pittsburgh: Neighborhood Narratives," and is part of the Pittsburgh 250 celebration.
The Heinz Field scene will be shot Saturday afternoon, and the Strip District scene will be shot Sunday morning. No pay is offered for participating in the film, Werner says. It is intended to raise awareness and possibly funds for Operation Safety Net, a Mercy Hospital outreach program for the homeless.
