Brookline man gets prison time for drug ring participation

A federal judge Friday sentenced a Brookline man to one year and six months in prison for participating in a drug ring.

Richard Bruno Desimone, 36, was one of 35 people arrested in a drug sweep that included Robert Korbe, 41. Christina Korbe, 41, of Indiana Township is charged with killing FBI Special Agent Samuel Hicks on Nov. 19, 2008, while Hicks was leading the team that arrested Robert Korbe.

Desimone pleaded guilty Feb. 19 to conspiring to sell cocaine and crack from October 2007 to September 2008. U.S. District Judge Terrence McVerry also sentenced him to three years of probation.

Of the 35 people indicted, 22 have pleaded guilty and 17 have been sentenced.
