Brady Quinn got his first NFL win as a starter almost single-handedly.

Quinn broke his right index finger during the first half of Monday night's game against the Buffalo Bills, but Cleveland's new starting quarterback stayed in and led the Browns to a 29-27 victory.

Despite the injury, Quinn will try to play Sunday when the Browns play host to the Houston Texans.

"At this point, it's just a little sore," he said before practice Thursday. "Just doing the best we can to take all the precautions to make sure it's all right."

Jones feels blame for 'Pacman'

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that one of the reasons he's willing to take another chance on Adam "Pacman" Jones is because he feels partly to blame for the cornerback's latest trouble.

"Yes, I do take responsibility for the fact that it was my own security that the issue was part of," Jerry Jones said. "Because it was my guy there that created the problem. ... The way that it was supposed to work in my mind, to some degree, we wouldn't have had that problem."

Camarillo signs extension

Receiver Greg Camarillo's breakout year with the Miami Dolphins has earned him a new contract.

Camarillo's $6 million, three-year extension keeps him under contract through 2011.

NFLPA director search

The search committee seeking a replacement for the late Gene Upshaw to run the NFL Players Association has narrowed the field to a little more than a dozen candidates, some with no previous ties to the union or the NFL, a person with knowledge of the search told The Associated Press.

The committee met this week with representatives of Reilly Partners, the search firm seeking candidates to replace Upshaw, who died in August. The union hopes to have a list of finalists set by early next year and select its new executive director at its annual meeting in March in Hawaii.
