The first bunny bar has opened in Beijing's diplomatic enclave, but the attraction in the Chinese capital isn't hopping with customers.
When former Maoist radical C.K. Yu opened the Buck and Bunny Bar, hiring 14 girls, it was hoped all eyes would be on the scantily-clad hostesses, Sky News reported.
But the diplomats didn't bite and Yu now is thinking of using the venue to hold bingo games every night, the report said.
Yu is the son of a Taiwanese general and was running a bookshop in California, selling the works of Mao Zedong, before he dipped his toe into the glamour bar business.
