Business: Specialty sports store opens in Collier
Pure Hockey & ComLAX has opened in Great Southern Shopping Center, Collier Township, in the former Old Country Buffet location.
Manager Patrick Moore, who originally was in the Nashua, N.H. location, played hockey for 18 years and lacrosse for 10 years.
His staff will offer assistance in purchasing skates, sticks, gloves, helmets, protective wear, goalie supplies and apparel.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdayl; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Recent acquisition
Harmony Hospice in Carnegie was recently acquired by Hospice Compassus, a Brentwood, Tenn.-based company that operates 50 hospice centers across the United States.
Karen Hegedis was named executive director and is overseeing the operations of the offices at 811 Washington Ave.

New management
Destinta Movie Theater, Chartiers Valley Shopping Center, Bridgeville, is now under the management of Phoenix Big Cinemas.
Repairs and deep cleaning were done, as well as the installation of new signs and other technology.
The concession stands have been upgraded to more varied food choices. Customers also can order tickets online at MovieTickets.com.
Auditoriums are being converted to all-digital projection and surround sound.
Eight 3D projection systems will be used as needed.
The theater's new name is Chartiers Valley Stadium 18.
New book buzz
Mike Buzzelli of Scott has released a new book called "Below Average Genius."
It compiles his previously published humor columns and short stories and has a local flavor, for example, rekindling childhood memories of his time at the former Morelli's Mom & Pop on Lindsay Road, Scott Township.
The book is available for $8.95 on Amazon.com.
The South Fayette Township Public Library has established a New Book Alerts service.
Patrons can now browse all new additions including print, DVDs and CDs and place a hold on the item by subscribing to monthly emails or RSS feeds.
The staff has also established a new Coupon Exchange Box.
