St. Barnabas Communities has acquired the Conley Resort and the Suncrest Golf Course, both in Butler County, St. Barnabas' officials announced Thursday.

Operations will continue as in the past, and all employees will be retained, Douglas W. Day, president of St. Barnabas Communities said in a statement.

“Business as usual,” he said.

The resort was transferred from owners Wayne and Barbara Conley and Suncrest from owners Keith and Linda Reddinger through trusts established by the respective families with St. Barnabas Charities, the fundraising arm of St. Barnabas Health System.

Wayne Conley said that the resort fits in with the mission of St. Barnabas and could help it attract a younger clientele.

“I think it is going to be a good thing for them, and it's going to be a good thing for my staff,” he said Thursday.

Conley Resort, in Penn, includes an 18-hole golf course, 56-room motel, swimming pool, banquet rooms, full service bar and restaurant. Suncrest, which is alongside Conley, includes an 18-hole golf course, bar, restaurant and pavilion.

Day stated that there are no plans to change the Conley and Suncrest golf courses. He added that golf and banquet reservations are running ahead of last year's record pace.

The new operations will be added to other St. Barnabas venues in Gibsonia, Valencia and Beaver, which include a conservatory, theater, two thrift shops, auto repair center, carriage homes, apartments, living assistance, skilled care, home care, rehabilitation and an outpatient medical center.
