By ordering on your phone, you could win McDonald’s for life
The winner of one — and only one — McGold Card will get lifetime rights to free food at McDonald’s.
The McGold Card, awarded in the past to only a lucky few, will be up for grabs through the McDonald’s App by ordering via Mobile Order & Pay through Aug. 24, with one possible entry per day.
The card giveaway is exclusive to the app, which allows customers to customize orders, get exclusive app deals and place their order ahead of time from their phones. Mobile Order & Pay also allows customers to pick up their order curbside, inside or at the drive-through window.
“Mobile Order & Pay is just one of the latest ways we are transforming convenience and value for our customers. To celebrate Mobile Order & Pay, we’re giving one of our mobile customers the chance to win the McGold Card and join a select group of McDonald’s fans, just for using the app,” Hashim Amin, head of U.S. Digital at McDonalds’s, says.
The winner also will receive a customized 24-carat golden phone case to mark their membership into McGold Card lore.
At a 1965 ceremony introducing the Gateway Arch, McDonald’s gave out the first McGold Card to the mayor of St. Louis, MO., awarding a lifetime of free McDonald’s. From then on, a select number of McGold Cards have been given out to persons ranging from the governor of Michigan to the king of Sweden.
Mobile Order & Pay on the McDonald’s App is available in nearly 14,000 restaurants in the U.S.
