Cable complaints

It’s time to start reading again or pursuing a hobby. The cable company has at last killed normal television viewing. Over the years it has progressively increased subscription rates and decreased the number of suitable programs. We started out paying less than $20 a month; we now pay more than $40 for expanded basic cable. We get more than 50 channels, of which fewer than 15 are worth watching. They run old “B” movies and then repeat them for months. The cable company added “pay per view” — isn’t $40 a month pay per view• The last straw: We must now endure 10 or more commercials in a row every 10 or 15 minutes. I recently watched a James Bond movie in which 64 commercials were aired in an hour and 15 minutes. We cable customers need to unite and threaten to drop the cable if improvements are not made. If enough of us drop cable at the same time, the cable companies may change their thinking. Robert J. Hreha North Huntingdon Township
