Michael Haneke's movie " Caché (Hidden)" took three trophies including best movie at the 18th European Film Awards Sunday in Berlin.
"Caché " star Daniel Auteuil of France won best actor and Austria's Haneke was named best director for the thriller, the BBC reported.
The best non-European film award went to George Clooney's "Good Night, and Good Luck."
The film about Palestinian suicide bombers, "Paradise Now," garnered best screenplay awards for writers Hany Abu-Assad and Bero Beyer.
Germany's Julia Jentsch was named best actress and Sean Connery received a lifetime achievement award for his 50-plus years in film.
Connery has graced more than 70 films -- playing James Bond seven times, starting with "Dr. No" in 1962 and ending with "Never Say Never Again." He won an Academy Award for best supporting actor for 1988's "The Untouchables."
