An adult and two juveniles were arrested in Duquesne on Wednesday after a traffic stop and brief police chase that netted cash, guns and heroin.

The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when police attempted to stop a vehicle for having expired inspection and emission stickers.

The vehicle fled from police and traveled for several blocks along Priscilla Avenue before it turned onto Fourth Street and came to a stop.

Two juveniles ran from the car when it stopped.

Police immediately apprehended one of them, a 16-year-old male from McKeesport, and recovered a .380- caliber automatic pistol from his waistband, according to police reports. The teen was charged with violating the Uniform Firearms Act.

The second juvenile ran from police, then got back in the vehicle, which again drove away from police before stopping a short time later.

When police approached the stopped vehicle a second time, the driver, Charise Stevenson, 30, of McKeesport, allegedly tried to discard two stacks of money containing a total of $9,556. In a subsequent search of Stevenson's purse, police said they recovered 14 stamp bags of heroin marked “Holy Grail” and “Skull Candy.”

Stevenson was charged with possession of heroin and possession with intent to deliver.

Police said the juvenile who ran and then returned to the car, identified as a 15-year-old male from McKeesport, was charged with violating the Uniform Firearms Act because they recovered a .380-caliber revolver in the area of his initial flight path.

Police said the three suspects were among five in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The other passengers were not charged.
