CBS Monday announced CNN's Anderson Cooper has been hired to contribute up to five reports a year to "60 Minutes."
The Emmy Award-winning anchor of CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" will begin his CBS crossover with the 2006-2007 season, CBS News and Sports President Sean McManus said on the Eye Network's Web site.
Under the deal, Cooper will also be allowed to rebroadcast his "60 Minutes" reports on a single-run basis on CNN, where he will remain as a full-time employee, McManus said.
"I'm delighted to be able to bring Anderson Cooper's varied talents to 60 Minutes," McManus said. "He has the curiosity and the desire and will be a great fit. I'm looking forward to having him contribute to the broadcast."
Since joining CNN in December 2001, Cooper joined CNN in December 2001 and previously worked for ABC News, contributing to "World News Tonight," "20/20," "20/20 Downtown" and the weekend editions of "World News Tonight."
