Cell phone camera catches alleged flasher

Catholic schoolgirls in New York used a cell phone to snap a picture of a man flashing them.

The girls photographed the man exposing himself about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and showed the picture to police who arrested a 57-year-old homeless man as a result, the New York Daily News reported.

Wilfredo Ponte was subsequently charged with endangering the welfare of a child and public lewdness. His attorney said Ponte denies the allegations.

The girls, freshmen at Mary Louis Academy, said they had been flashed twice the previous week and were prepared with a cell phone camera when again approached.

Mary Louis Academy Principal Sister Kathleen McKinney told the newspaper: "Our girls wanted him arrested. They didn't want him doing this to anyone else. They were willing to do what they did to stop him."
