I take from Mike Tidwell's column " Weather-beaten " (March 6 and TribLIVE.com) that we are to spend our children's college funds on solar panels, window bars and portable generators to save the planet and secure ourselves from starving mobs out to rob us of our hydroponic tomatoes. Surely we are to take extreme heat and cold and discredited junk-science studies as evidence of global warming. And implicit is a mandate to acquiesce to power-mad politicians bent on taking our money to subsidize his "green"-energy fetish.
Mr. Tidwell, get a life -- and quit watching those doomsday flicks on the SyFy Channel.
