Charges are pending against an East Liberty man involved in a two-vehicle accident at Route 8 and Decatur Drive on Thursday that left a Seneca Valley High School graduate in critical condition Friday at Allegheny General Hospital, North Side, Butler Township police said.

Jeff Samuels, 36, of Margaretta St., pulled in front of Zach Morgan, 20, of Wahl Ave., Evans City, at 5:27 p.m., police said. Morgan was headed north on Route 8. According to police, Morgan's 1988 Dodge Shadow went under the truck.

Morgan and his passenger, Daniel Flask IV, 22, had to be cut from the car.

Morgan was flown to Allegheny General Hospital. Flask was treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for minor injuries and released. Samuels was not injured.

The crash shut down Route 8, near Decatur Drive, for more than two hours Thursday.

Butler Township police said Morgan was in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital yesterday afternoon.
