Regarding the Sept. 10 Dimitri Vassilaros column on safety checkpoints:
My husband and I were involved in the traffic checkpoint recently in Mt. Lebanon. I am glad that sort of thing is done on occasion. I see so many driving violations and drivers who think the law is only for other people that it is refreshing to see some get caught. I also think there should not be checkpoint warnings. If we were not using our seat belts, we would have had plenty of time to snap them up.
I don't think Big brother was actually at work.
