State police in Uniontown are investigating numerous incidents of counterfeit Visa traveler's checks being passed in the area.
The checks are usually in the amount of $500, although there may be some for $100, police said.
The suspects have been buying minimal items using the checks at various businesses in Fayette County and receiving currency as change.
