For "The Chef's Table: 25 Years of Fine Dining," held Nov. 6 at Westmoreland County Community College, culinary arts/hospitality program students prepared dishes from a quarter-century of menus of the popular fundraising dinner -- albeit with a contemporary twist in honor of the dinner's landmark year.

Harvest of Blessings
St. Anne Home celebrated its 15th annual Harvest of Blessings dinner and auction Saturday at Stratigos Banquet Centre in North Huntingdon.
The evening began with champagne flowing from a giant ice sculpture, appetizers and perusal of silent auction items that included a china nativity set, baseball, golf, hockey and football packages, jewelry, fine wines and artwork.
After dinner, Mark Ferry conducted a live auction of a tour of the U.S. Capitol, V.I.P. treatment at Steelers training camp and Miss Curley-Q, a giant piggy bank stuffed with an undetermined amount of cash. Proceeds from the auction of the Quilt of Valor, a collaboration of the Felician Sisters and nursing director Rebecca Flack , will benefit St. Anne Home. After the winning bidder's name is inscribed on the quilt, it will be presented to a wounded soldier.
Bishop William Connare believed older citizens of every race and religion deserved dignity and loving care. After Greensburg-based St. Anne was established in 1964, he invited the Felician Sisters to administer it. The home began with skilled and intermediate care; in 1997 assisted living at Villa Angela was added.
President and CEO Jeffrey Long said life at St. Anne reflects what Connare thought it should.
"Whether visiting a resident, participating in daily Mass, assisting residents with daily activities or simply walking through the halls and chatting with the staff, the Felician Sisters can be seen ministering daily to those in need," he said.
Special guest was Sister Mary Christopher Moore , provincial minister of the Felician Sisters of North America.
Seen: Dr. Barbara Marin , Elmer and Sylvia Foley , B. Patrick and Lou Costello , John and Gretchen Kline , Dr. Richard and Janet McNeel , Eric and Michele Bononi , Richard and Kathleen McCormick , Karen Lauer , Suzanne Mahady , Tom and Sharon Nies , Jim and Paulette Persin , Lori Long , Jeanine Ferry , Connie Deemer , Bob and Diana Yuhas , George and Chris Byce and Rob and June Czarnecki .
