ChemStars hopes to concoct girls' interest in science
The Girls, Math & Science Partnership, a program of the Carnegie Science Center on the North Side, will be presenting a program Saturday that aims to get girls excited about chemistry and careers in the field.
ChemStars, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., is open to girls in fourth through ninth grades. The event includes hands-on activities and one-on-one mentoring with women in science careers. Information about chemistry careers will be available to parents at the registration table. ChemStars is available to 100 Pittsburgh-area girls for $5. Registration is required. Details: 412-237-1637.
