A Clairton woman has been sentenced to one to two years in the Allegheny County Jail after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her husband.

Michelle Coulson, 51, who pleaded guilty in the November 2006 death of John Coulson, 46, reached a plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Jill E. Rangos.

According to police, Coulson said she and her husband got into a fight at home after a night of drinking. The argument turned violent and Coulson said she slashed and stabbed her husband three or four times and went to bed. John Coulson stabbed his wife once in the side. She said she awoke to find his body on the steps where he collapsed.
