CMU graduates its first class in Rwanda
Carnegie Mellon University in Rwanda graduated its first class on July 24.
Twenty-two students received master's degrees of information technology at the ceremony in the capital of Kigali, the school said in a statement.
CMU said it is the only internationally recognized, American-founded university with a campus in an African nation. It is also the only U.S. institution offering a master's program taught by resident faculty in Africa.
The campus offers two master's of science degrees — in information technology and in electrical and computer engineering — to help students take advantage of Rwanda's growing position as a regional technology hub.
