My favorite quote following the CNBC Republican debate came from Hugh Hewitt of CNN: “There’s an old Irish saying that when everybody says your drunk, you’d better sit down.”
For anyone still not convinced of the existence of liberal media bias, CNBC gave us the quintessential example. If the topic was the economy, the questions might have fit this criterion if you were interested in the health of the candidates, their campaign war chest or their personal financial status.
But it went beyond that. The panel asked the candidates to attack each other, thus prompting Ted Cruz’s point- on response that the questioning showed “why the American people don’t trust the media.” His critique initiated the feeding frenzy toward CNBC and most of the liberal media, who Republican candidates have tolerated as a necessary evil.
These debates have been a joke, often being about how many times can you refer to Donald Trump, which explains a good part of his popularity. Mostly, these debates have been about the liberal media knocking the Republican candidates, not informing the public about the difference between the candidates and how they differ in policy matters and credentials.
I will trust the liberal media to conduct the Republican debate when the Democrat Party trusts Fox News to carry the Democratic debate.
