Upper St. Clair teacher and assistant football coach Shawn Morton lost one of those titles Monday.

The school board voted 7-0 last night to revoke Morton's earlier-approved contract as an assistant football coach.

Neither board members nor Superintendent James Lombardo would discuss the decision. District officials declined to comment on his status as a physical education teacher.

Morton was arrested by Pittsburgh police July 30 in Mt. Washington and charged with possession of crack cocaine.

Morton's attorney, Joseph G. Kanfoush, earlier said his client has agreed to enter into a program that will allow his record to be cleared as long as he completes a problem-free probationary period. Morton maintains his innocence, Kanfoush said.
