A Colombian druglord considered one of the country's most noted traffickers was denied bond in a Miami court, The Miami Herald reported Tuesday.
Elias Cobos-Munoz was extradited last week to the United States to face charges of conspiring to smuggle several tons of cocaine through the Caribbean and on to the United States.
Two other alleged members of his syndicated were also denied bond in Miami's federal court Monday.
Over the last several months Colombia has sent dozens of suspects linked to the country's cocaine and heroin trade to the United States to face trial. In return, the United States has given Colombia $3.3 billion worth of equipment and training for its war on drugs.
