Marketing firm Communifx Corp. of Cranberry has been acquired by MDC Partners Inc., which has clients across North America, Latin America and Europe.

Terms weren't disclosed. The data analytics and database marketing company will keep its name and retain its 70 employees, most of whom are in the region.

Communifx will be part of New York-based MDC's Performance Marketing Services Group. Jeff and Bill Battin founded the company in 1988 and it now has regional clients such as Sheetz and rue21, plus national clients.
