Giant Eagle Inc., with its GetGo store chain, moved up six spots to 73rd place in Convenience Store News' annual list of North America's 100-largest convenience stores.

Ranked by total stores, including company-owned and franchise locations, GetGo, with 97 stores, moved up from No. 79 in the 2008 list. Other chains with local ties making the list are Altoona, Blair County-based Sheetz Inc., which slipped one spot to No. 26, with 350 stores.

Warren-based United Refining Co., which owns 280 Country Fair, Kwik Fill, Kwik Fill & Smokers Outlet and Red Apple stores, dropped one spot to No. 35. State College-based Uni-Marts LLC, in bankruptcy protection, with 213 locations, dropped into a tie for 40th place from 36th last year.
