Convicted killer of Texas woman executed
Convicted killer Bryan Eric Wolfe was executed Wednesday in Texas for the robbery and murder of an 84-year-old woman in her home more than 13 years ago.
Wolfe was pronounced dead at 6:31 p.m. after receiving a lethal injection for fatally stabbing Bertha Lemell Feb. 15, 1992, at Beaumont, in southeast Texas.
In his final statement, Wolfe expressed love for family members and friends who were witnesses.
"I am at peace with all of this, and I won't have to wake up in prison any more," he said.
Lemell was stabbed 26 times with a knife. Wolfe cut himself during the attack, trailing blood out the front door to the driveway, court records said.
Wolfe was the seventh person executed this year in Texas.
