Let's get cookin'!

The 120 members of the Auxiliary of Mon-Vale Health Resources, Inc. have pulled together their favorite tried-and-true recipes, and the resulting cookbook is now for sale in the Monongahela Valley Hospital Gift Shop.

The books cost $7 and all funds raised will benefit patient care at Monongahela Valley Hospital.

The 73 pages of favorites are neatly bound in a 7-inch by 9-inch, three-ring binder that lays flat when opened and includes an easy-wipe-off cover.

"I like cookbooks like ours because the recipes are everyone's favorites and they're tried so you know they're good," said auxiliary President Ruth Antonelli. "I collect cookbooks and I'll buy extra for my daughters for Christmas."

The cookbooks also can be purchased at any of the auxiliary's upcoming events, including the Apple/Fall Festival on Friday, the Harvest Luncheon in early November, a bake sale at Light-up-night on Nov. 21, and a jewelry sale in December.

The auxiliary donated $91,500 to MVH in 2011, bringing the organization's total donations to more than $3 million over the last 33 years.
