A University of Pittsburgh student charged with burning a couch on an Oakland street in the aftermath of the Steelers' Super Bowl win will spend 180 days on probation, an Allegheny County judge ordered Tuesday.
Andrew Ablog, 22, of Monaca pleaded guilty to two summary charges — disorderly conduct and dangerous burning. Prosecutors originally charged him with a misdemeanor-grade disorderly conduct but lowered it before Senior Common Pleas Judge Gerard Bigley imposed the sentence.
"I'm just happy that it's over. The waiting was the worst part," said Ablog, a former volunteer firefighter who was suspended from school. "I'll definitely watch what I'm doing now."
