Crafton man, 51, arrested in holdup at Parkvale Savings
A Crafton man has been charged with robbing three banks and a business, and is a suspect in other robberies, police said.
Richard McCullough, 51, was arrested Monday on theft and robbery charges after an off-duty Scott patrol officer spotted what he believed was the getaway vehicle used in the Oct. 19 robbery of Parkvale Savings Bank on Washington Pike, said Scott Chief James P. Secreet.
The video of McCullough getting into a getaway car was captured by a camera mounted outside a nearby auto dealership, Secreet said. An officer noticed that the vehicle that led to McCullough had the same distinctive chrome bumpers as the car used in the robbery, he said.
After McCullough was taken into custody, Ross police charged him with robbing Duro Cleaners on McKnight Road, Detective Brian Kohlhepp said. McCullough also is a suspect in the Oct. 6 robbery of a Parkvale Bank on McKnight Road, according to Kohlhepp.
Police in Kennedy have charged McCullough with the Sept. 11 robbery of the PNC Bank branch on Pine Hollow Road, and the Oct. 9 robbery of the Clearview Federal Credit Union on Langer Drive, said Deputy Chief Robert Hull.
McCullough was arraigned Tuesday and jailed on $100,000 bond.
