'My daughter is afraid to sleep in her room now; in fact, she's scared to even go back inside the building,' sai Malinda Cole said. The Red Cross is providing shelter for the family and for other people displaced by the fire, which was reported sometime before 3 a.m. Officials said the blaze appears to have started in a first-floor apartment, but the cause is unclear. According to Brian Ralston, senior building inspector for the city, about 10 families were displaced from 20 apartments, but it was still too early to tell.
