The home of a woman killed in a crash on the morning of Jan. 7 was burglarized sometime between the accident and Tuesday, according to Kittanning Police Chief Ed Cassesse.

Police aren't sure what was taken from the Maple Street home where Angela Lynn Martin, 27, lived, he said. A family member discovered the burglary, he said.

Martin was killed and her passengers injured when the sport utility vehicle she was driving slammed into the trailer portion of a tractor-trailer along Tarrtown Road in East Franklin.

The tractor-trailer had backed across Martin's lane of travel as the driver prepared to back on to a drive-on scale at P.J. Greco Salvage.

Because the homes of the deceased can be vulnerable, Cassesse asked loved ones to be vigilant in protecting the property of those who have died.

Anyone with information about the break-in is asked to call Kittanning police at 724-543-1538.

The investigation into the crash continues. Coroner Bob Bower said Tuesday the toxicology reports are completed and he would consult with the district attorney before releasing the results.
