Anne M. Blazina, 95, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully in her home Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016. She was born Aug. 8, 1921, in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Felc) Shinavski. She was the wife of the late Rudy L. Blazina. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, John; and sisters, Mary Halucha and Genevieve McCusker. She is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Louise Blazina, and a brother, Michael Shinavski. Anne was a member of Corpus Christi Parish (Holy Trinity). Howard R. Cornibe Sr., 92, of The Villages, Fla., formerly of Middlesex Township, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Lady Lake Specialty Care in The Villages, Fla., after a short illness. Born Aug. 30, 1924, in Butler, he was the son of the late of George and Louise Tiha Cornibe. Howard was a graduate of Butler High School, Class of 1942. He proudly served with the Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He retired in 1984 after 35 years with AT and T. He was a member of Holy Sepulcher Church and the Knights of Columbus there. He also had been a volunteer for South Butler Community Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed golf, reading, travel, dancing with his wife, and following sports. He was a longtime birder. Howard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marianne Schuchman, whom he married May 24, 1950; and by his parents; and sisters, Doris Sweeney and Marion Wallon. Surviving are his children, Jean (Jim) Reynolds, of Sterling, Va., Janet (Ernie) Yockey, of The Villages, Fla., Howard Cornibe Jr., of Estero, Fla., and Jayne (Joseph) Pinchbeck, of Seneca, S.C.; three granddaughters, Brooke (Neely) Reynolds, of Redwood City, Calif., Sara (Ben) Koch, of Pittsburgh, and Susan Reynolds, of Reston, Va.; and a great-grandson, Elliot Reynolds Norris, of Redwood City, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. William T. Gleba, 83, of Forest Hills, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2016. He was the husband of Jane (Stephenson) Gleba for 59 years; proud father of Lydia Gleba, Mary (Tom) Burke, Beth (Michael) Brucker, Barbara (Jay) Blaney and Michael (Jennifer) Gleba; dear grandfather of Caroline (Jim) Theiss, Rachel (Kevin) McGuire, Jacob, Monica and Joseph Burke, John Michael (Megan), Peter, Maria, Marian, Matthias and James Brucker, Caitlin (Kris) Carlisle, Colin, Eamonn and Liam Blaney, Christian and Maeve Gleba; and brother of Jerry (Marge) Gleba. Bill served as a medic in the Army during the Korean War. He then attended Carnegie Tech and became a professional engineer and professional surveyor. His career as a professional engineer included Bankson Engineers in Wilkinsburg, Kohler Construction in North Versailles and lastly, he was the P.E. for the Westmoreland Water Authority. In his spare time, Bill operated his own local surveying business and became well-known for his service. Bill was fond of bowling and was a longtime member of the Forest Hills Manor League. George William Hays, 59, of North Fort Myers, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 14, 2016. George was born May 3, 1957, in McKeesport. He graduated from Elizabeth Forward High School in 1975 and attended the University of Delaware, where he played football. For postgraduate studies, he attended Purdue University. George was employed at Lee Memorial Health Systems as a beloved cardiac rehab specialist for more than 30 years. George enjoyed coaching football and baseball, cheering on his Pittsburgh Steelers, and being a father. He often volunteered at the Salvation Army and other charity organizations. George is preceded in death by his father, George W. During World War II, Rose Marie was a true “Rosie the Riveter”, working for the Curtiss-Wright Corp. and Spencer Lens Co., both of Buffalo, N.Y. She was a graduate of Monessen Senior High School and the Bryn Mawr School of Beauty, a member St. Michael Catholic Church in Elizabeth, the Croatian Fraternal Union of America, Buter's Tuesday Morning Ladies' Golf League, as well as the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. John A. “Bud” Menzie, 94, of North Versailles, passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Beacon Ridge in Indiana, Pa. Born March 16, 1922, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John B. and LaDean (Knight) Menzie; and loving husband of the late Thelma (Lytle) Menzie. Following high school, John began working as an electrician for National Tube Works until he joined the Army, having honorably served during World War II as a paratrooper. He later went on to work for his father's dairy business, Menzie Dairy Co., in McKeesport, having retired after many years of dedicated service. Bud attended the McKeesport Alliance Church, where he enjoyed being a member of the Keenagers and the church choir. He also devoted his free time volunteering for the church food bank for many years. Some of his favorite times were spent in his trailer, going on road trips across the states, and spending time in the woods camping. He was affectionately referred to as the “neighborhood handyman,” getting frequent calls to fix friends' electrical work and lamps, or, as he would say, “tinker” with them. Bud will be missed for his jokester personality, and always knowing how to put you in a good mood. John is survived by his grandson, Stephen John (Maria) Lowman, of Indiana, Pa.; great-grandsons, Micah and Jonah Lowman; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Lowman; son, Ronald Menzie; and siblings, Lois Menzie, Ruth Gross, William Menzie and Glenn Menzie. Walter H. Miller, 95, of White Oak, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. He was born on Sept. 1, 1921, in Mc-Keesport, a son of the late Peter and Rose (Leibold) Miller. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Geraldine R. (Geyer) Miller. Mr. Miller is survived by his daughters, Christine Carney (William), of Elizabeth Township, and Suzanne Gadelmeyer, of New Castle; grandchildren, Peter Fedor IV (April), Erica Gadelmeyer, Heidi Gadelmeyer (Adam), Frederick Gadelmeyer and Michael Carney; and great-granddaughter, Paisley Fedor. Mr. Miller was a graduate of McKeesport High School and a 1949 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, from where he received a Bachelor of Science in engineering and was affiliated with Eta Kappa Nu. He retired in June 1977 from IBM, Pittsburgh, as an electrical engineer. After retirement, he decided to pursue a real estate career, attending Penn State McKeesport, and began working for Century 21. Mr. Miller was a veteran of the Navy, serving during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Miller was a member of St. Angela Merici Church and its Keener Citizens, the former St. Mary German Church, McKeesport Turners and Quarter Century Club at IBM. Melvin Trkula, 83, of Mc-Keesport, died peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving familly. He was born on May 15, 1933, in Wilmerding, a son of the late Nicholas and Violet Radulovich Trkula. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961 and a bachelor's degree in administration and management science in 1970 from Carnegie Mellon University. Mel served in the Navy Reserves, attended Real Estate School and obtained his license and was a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania. He worked at PPG, Westinghouse, Pittsburgh Corning and retired from Jefferson Hospital as an administrator. He is a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, the Masonic Lodge No. 765 of East McKeesport and the ASERBS; he enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling, listening to Serbian music and most of all, spending time with his family. Mel is survived by his wife, Helen Kosanovic Trkula; and children, Melanie Trkula, of Whitehall, David (Theresa) Trkula, of Penn Township, and Michelle Trkula, of Monroeville. Robert John “Skinny” Zych, 53, of Brackenridge, died Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016, in St. Clair Hospital. He was born on Feb. 17, 1963, in Pittsburgh, to the late Chester H. and Dolores P. Yankowski Zych. A plumber, he was the proprietor and operator of Dependable Plumbing, a business he operated for the past 24 years. He was a member of The VFW and Kinloch Firemen's Club in Lower Burrell and the River Forest Country Club. He enjoyed golf and the Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pirates and Panthers. Survivors include his brothers, Bill (Jeanne) Zuch, of Mt. Lebanon, and Joseph (Kimberly) Zych, of Baldwin; nieces and nephews, Jason (Sarah) and Andy (Sami) Zych, Kristine (Joe) Gauita, Elizabeth Zych, Coery Haser and Michael Acquaviva; and several great-nieces and -nephews.
