Verde Mexican Kitchen and Cantina
Verde Mexican Kitchen and Cantina, 5491 Penn Ave., Garfield, will hold a tequila-and-margarita class Jan. 18, from 4 to 5 p.m.
Instructors will teach the class how to order tequila like a pro. Attendees will taste three styles of tequila: blanco, reposado and añejo, plus a mezcal. They also will take a crash course on bartending, then use those skills to mix margaritas.

Tender Bar and Kitchen
Tender Bar and Kitchen, 4300 Butler St., Lawrenceville, will host a class called “Hopped Up on Craft Beer” from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18.
In-house brewing expert Kyle Branigan of the Milkman Brewing will give guests a 90-minute lesson on today's world of craft beers. Topics on the agenda include: What are the trends in craft brews? How are hops, malt and yeast used in the brewing process? Which kind of beer suits your palette? How are craft beers being used in cocktails today?
During the interactive class, attendees will enjoy tastes of several single hop IPAs, wild & Belgian fermented beers, a barley wine and more. Cost is $30.
Tender also will host a whiskey class from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 1. The event will includes professional instruction, snacks from Tender's kitchen, tastings of a variety of holiday drinks, cocktails attendees create and take-away recipes and information sheets.
