Dining news: Winghart’s is opening a Monroeville location

Winghart's Burger & Whiskey Bar, with two locations in Pittsburgh, is now also open in Monroeville Mall, next to Macy's.

The new location features a menu including BLTs, golden fried haddock and a Pittsburgh cheesesteak, as well as home-ground fresh sausage and a variety of burgers.

PANERA BREAD

Panera Bread, with multiple locations around the Pittsburgh region, invites patrons to “Come Together for a Cause” and raise money for breast-cancer research by purchasing pink ribbon bagels during the month of October.

The 29 Pittsburgh-area Panera Bread bakery-cafes will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Young Women's Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Magee Women's Research Institute & Foundation and the Cancer Caring Center.

Shaped in the form of the iconic pink ribbon, the bagels feature cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey and brown sugar, and are baked fresh each morning.

PENN STATION EAST COAST SUBS

Penn Station East Coast Subs, with locations around the Pittsburgh region, is now open at 808 Liberty Ave., Downtown.

Local resident Jon Keidel, along with his father, Denny Keidel, and their business partner, John Adams, are the owners behind the new sandwich shop. The trio also owns two other locations in Pittsburgh and has plans to open a total of 10 stores in the area by 2017.

Penn Station is a sandwich chain originally founded in Cincinnati in 1985. It has more than 260 locations.

The upscale, fast-casual concept serves a variety of hot and cold subs, as well as made-to-order French fries, hand-squeezed lemonade and freshly baked chocolate chunk cookies.

SIX PENN KITCHEN

In conjunction with its eighth anniversary, Six Penn Kitchen, Downtown, is hosting a Fall Harvest Dinner at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 10.

The four-course meal includes appetizers, cheese and dessert courses. Each course may be paired with a seasonal wine or beer.

Cost is $75 with pairings and $50 without pairings. Reservations are required.
