A former Washington County attorney received prison time Tuesday after pleading guilty to more than 90 criminal charges in April.
James Marchewka, 43, of 290 Pine Ridge Drive, Venetia, was sentenced to 11 ? to 23 months in jail.
Under the sentence, Marchewka can work during the day, but must report to the Washington County Correctional Facility afterward.
Marchewka pleaded guilty on April 26 on to 91 felony counts and one misdemeanor count.
He forged the signatures of judges, attorneys and clients on fake legal papers and bilked clients out of more than $250,000 over several years.
The charges grew from a state police investigation that found Marchewka misappropriated estate funds, forged and deposited a client's settlement check, and forged official documents.
The documents illegally included the names of local officials, including Allegheny County District Attorney Steven Zappala and Washington County judges.
Marchewka also accepted pay for legal services after he had been disbarred.
Marchewka was barred from practicing law in April 2010.
